1. Fuel tank maintenance & regular analysis
Don’t just assume the cleanliness of your storage solutions. Know it.
Improperly maintained storage tanks can accumulate excessive levels of water leading to bacterial growth, biocontamination, slime, sludge, rust, and corrosion. All of this can migrate to fuel leading to filter plugging, corrosion, shutdown, and escalating repair costs for your equipment. Our Tank Maintenance Program will ensure peak fuel performance and cut unnecessary downtime & repair expenses.
Our Program’s 3-Step Process Includes:
Tank inspection, sampling, and testing of fuel from tank bottoms for water, microbiological contamination, and debris.
Removal of excess water from tank bottoms and treatment of remaining water in fuel with applications of ValvTect Tank Dri, a non-alcohol, water dispersant formulated to safely remove a controlled amount of water, over the next 2 - 3 fuel deliveries, or as needed.
Once all water has been removed, the tank will be“shock treated” with BioGuard ULSTM Microbiocide, an EPA registered, dual-phase microbiocide, to kill bacteria and other bio-contaminants that causes lime/sludge build-up, filter plugging, and corrosion
2. Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) purity
The components of your Selective Catalytic Reduction system have very little tolerance to impurities.
We prioritize DEF purity, because less than one-tenth of a teaspoon of the minerals found in tap water, dust, and the air can cause damage within the SCR system. All of our DEF is transported in dedicated, sealed DEF containers for protection from contamination.
Common problems from impurities include:
Formation of gummy deposits
Clogged DEF injectors
Damage to the SCR catalyst
These changes to the system lead to increased DEF consumption, loss of power, error codes and ultimately system failure.
Proper handling of DEF is critical to the function of your SCR catalyst; operating through a closed system provides that protection. We protect the integrity of our DEF by using containers specifically designed and dedicated to the transfer of DEF, nothing but DEF.
